Your Questions Answered

At the time of writing this, a whopping 1,714 comments have been left on this blog over the last week or so.

My initial intention was to respond to your comments individually to help answer your questions about my Rapid Video Blogging method. But… there are only that many hours in a day!

So, instead of responding to each comment individually, I’ve decided to do the next best thing – run a LIVE webinar where you were able to ask me your questions and I answered them there and then.

The call took 2.5 hrs and we covered a lot of extremely useful information that can help you succeed at this.

You can watch it now (see below video for a summary)…

Some Of The Main Things Covered Inside This Webinar

Here are just SOME of the many things we covered inside this call:

  • How to overcome the fear of being in front of a camera.
  • What to do if you have a face for radio (in other words, what to do if you don’t think you look good enough for video, and why it does not matter on YouTube).
  • How to synchronize your audio when recording it separately on a voice recorder for both PC and Mac (everyone LOVED this tip!).
  • The EXACT models of voice recorders I use for getting extremely crisp and clear audio for my videos.
  • A secret link where you can find my battle tested video export settings for best HQ video results on YouTube – this one is worth GOLD!
  • How to record video interviews with Skype and another FREE tool.
  • Which webcams you can use for best results.
  • Where to find some of the BEST WordPress themes on the internet.
  • A sneak peak inside the actual members area.
  • A special announcement for my NEW payment plan for the Rapid Video Blogging Coaching Program (see below).

awesome. didnt expect a same day reply. it was a great day on the gold coast today… i’ll be heading back tomorrow to visit my friend who lives in varsity lakes.

i intend to share this site with him ( by sitting down and going thru it). he is a visiting professor at UQ and entrepreneurial in nature.

i think this will benefit him extremely well as he is only aware of publsihing in the academic circle not realising how valauble a video blog can be to advance his research in the “real world”. all the best.

quick question, have u considered marketing this to university students who want a career in academia?

i mean they are always writing something and i am sure some of them have blogs but have no idea how powerful videos are and more importantly, how to put themselves out there for the rest of the world to see their work.

ican see ur product helping phd students with their research because whilst they are doing their research, they can share their findings via video.

Those interested can respond or comment with their findings adn citations and this willhelp the phd candidate ACCELERATE their research.

what do u think?

When was the “notice” sent out about the webinar? I guess you all are lucky I did not get it because I have so many questions, I have had a bloody headache for a week now.

Gideon-

I forgot to ask you something about you something. I do not have a website, blogsite, or whatever other media I can use to drive potential customers back to this “site.” How do I get started with a site and who do I go to to get help that will not break the bank? I do not understand the lingo I have heard used, so if you can help me using basic words so that I can see if this is a realistic avenue for me would be so helpful.
Thanks,
Kent

Thanks Heather

Hi Gideon! Thanks for putting up the webinar for replay, I really appreciate it. :)
Since I came across your RVB idea, I have been tweaking with what I have with me to get started, and found some very useful stuff myself.
In addition to the tips to overcoming video-shyness, placing a mirror (huge enough so that half of you is visible) behind the digicam (which has a screen in itself), so that it would seem like you’re just talking to yourself, would really help. The results are not bad, and if you place the mirror at the right position, it can even create the illusion that you’re really talking to your camera. It did an amazing job for me. :)
And I super agree with you with the audio recorder thing. I basically have my personal Sony digicam, but it doesn’t shoot HD videos. So I utilized my Samsung Omnia II to do the HD video recording, and Sony digicam for the GREAT audio, and voila, love love love the results! ;P I remember someone mentioned on the comments that his Samsung mobile is doing a very good job at shooting videos, and he’s absolutely right! But I just love the audio recording of my Sony cam though, since I’m singing songs (audio is critical). :) )
That’s it. Was just pretty excited with the tip there. ^_^ Thanks again for sharing all those info. It’s so useful that it’s so hard to pass up!

Hey Ann

Wow! I love your tip about using the mirror!

That can also solve another problem when using Flip type cameras… It let’s you see the viewfinder screen so that you can position yourself easily for the shoot!

Awesome stuff… You’ve taught me something new!

You spoke of some super-true reasons people don’t flock to doing video blogging. I want to add one I learned many years ago as a child. My parents received the weekly Kiplinger Letter, an investment advisory. I couldn’t understand word one of the advisory itself. But I learned a lot from the weekly quote on their header: Most people are too busy earning a living, so they never make any money.

I realized it’s not just getting out there every day and making a buck that keeps people from earning real money: it is all the humdrum repetitive stuff, all the stuff we have learned is super=important to do routinely . Hamster wheel. Small rewards. Stuff.

A related reason: so many people feel that it’s fine to make enough money to take OK care of the family and make a few contributions here and there, but that to earn tons more is somehow not right, or maybe even evil. (hear that little voice kick in when you read the words “tons more” ??? ) In truth, the more I make, the more I have to share. The more I make, the more I can make a difference.Of course, that implies discernment and major responsibility ….and facing all that sends people back to the hamster wheel.

Sooo, thanks Gideon ! On our way into making greater contributions, and greater money as well.

Hi Gideon, your video is of high quality, both content and visual.

What video cam do you use to shoot these videos in your studio? What model of microphone do you use in your studio? I found that you talked about normal model you recommend to others, I am just curious how high end you yourself use.

Thanks.

Hi GIdeon,
Awesome videos as usual. Great content, and the human presence is usually best.
What do you think is the best way to put a video on Youtube? Maybe this is a simplistic question, but I want to make sure it looks pro. I have a lot of visitors coming on my site.
thanks,
take care!
